FORETHOUGHT What does this verse mean to you? Take
a minute and write down your thoughts.
Do you have that report yet? I’m working on it.
Do you have any leads yet? I’m working on it.
Do you have any prospects yet? I’m working on it.
“I’m working on it” has to be one of the most used phrases today. Whenever we think we need just a little more time, “I’m working on it” seems to fit right in. As a result, when our personal struggles are brought to light, we default to the same phrase.
“I’m working on my patience. “
“I’m working on my attitude.”
“I’m working on being more loving.”
We are the most hardworking-on-it people, however, our lives yield very few results. Do we really know what we’re working on? God is pretty clear about us needing to trust to Him to hear Him. Many of us miss step one, which is to trust Him, and never make it to step two, which is hearing His instructions. For this reason, we are always working on something, and never completing anything. When we trust God, our Instructor, he instructs and gives us strategy for our career goals, and personal struggles. The key is to trust Him. Today, think about everything you are working on. Submit it to God. Trust Him to give you the instructions for fruition in this season of your life.
PRAYER Father, thank You for this time with You again. Thank You for revealing Yourself a little more in my heart and in my life. Father, I pray that Your Holy Spirit continues to soften my heart to Your teachings and Your instructions. You are always speaking, please allow me to have ears that are always listening. Please continue to remove all things in my heart that separate me from being in a full relationship with you.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Be honest. It’s only you and God.
1. What are you continuously “working on” that doesn’t seem to be working out?
2. How could you trust God more in these areas?
3. What instructions are the instructor trying to give you?
